About The Tune

What is OTS+ vs Custom Tuning:
1. OTS+ is terminology for a tune that is flash and go like OTS, but has been fine-tuned across a generic set of environments, and that has a higher output than OTS. So you can expect the car to feel as if it was custom tuned, at a lesser cost, and a much quicker time frame.
2. Custom tuning is a process that is specific to your car, with your modifications, in your normal environment. This process allows us to extract every bit of power that is available via the process of datalogging and sending files back and forth as we dial everything in. This process is more tedious, time consuming, and therefore more expensive - but it does provide for a tune file that is specific to your setup and only your setup. Custom tuning is a great option for someone who wants to be more engaged in the tuning process and who wants the most out of their build.

How the test car was setup:
1. Test car is a 2016 BMW F30 340i, with a Dorch stage 1 HPFP, catless downpipe, E30 blend, "stage 2" TCU tune from xHP, NGK spark plugs gapped down to .022, sitting on 245/45/r18s. Everything else is bone stock. Car had 79k miles when it first got tuned, has been running with the power output listed below for 40k miles.

Vehicle Specifics that this tune works on:
1. Year 2016 to 2018 BMW F30 340i, B58 powerplant.
2. We can tune other BMW models with the B58 powerplant, please inquire via email if you have another model with a B58 engine.

What modifications are required for the tune to work properly:
1. Minimum stage 1 high pressure fuel pump needed, Supra TU pump, Dorch stage 1 or 2, Fuel-It Stage 1, Etc, are all good options, it just needs to be upgraded from the stock HPFP.
2. Designed for track cars with a catless downpipe, or street cars where it is legal to run a catless downpipe.
3. E30 blend fuel, approximately 93oct. To get E30 we blend West Coast 91oct with pump Ethanol (anywhere from E60 - E75) to make an E30 blend.
4. Spark plugs properly gapped down to .022

Recommended modifications to get the most out of the package:
1. Everything listed above is required. To get the most out of the package, I recommend having a TCU tune on the car as well. I run a xHP Stage 2 flash tune for the 8hp, which is highly recommended.

Specifics about the tune, what is changed from factory, power output, expectations, Etc:
1. Factory output on a F series 340i is 320hp @ 5500 rpm, and 330ft Lbs of torque @ 1380 rpm. This OTS+ tune pulls out a stout 450hp @ 5500 rpm and 520ft Lbs of torque @ 4000 rpm on a Mustang Dynometer all on the stock turbo with an E30 blend @ a 3000DA average in Las Vegas, Nevada.
2. With hundreds of dyno runs, pulls, logs, and over 40k miles of everyday testing in all sorts of different scenarios, you can rest assured that this tuning package has been thoroughly tested under a wide range of conditions over a decent period of time.
3. Changes include everything from Fueling, Ignition Timing, Boost, Load Targets, Torque, Nannies, down to the feel of the Accelerator Pedal, Exhaust Sound Tuning, etc.
4. It is important to mention that while many things have been changed to create a whole new monster of a car, none of the Safeties or Safety Features have been removed; they are all stock. Nannies have been raised so there no limitations at this level, but limitations above that are still in place, as well as all of the factory safeties which are designed and in place for a reason.
5. On a stock car you can expect an output of around 350nm to low 400nm reported to the clutch. On a BM3 OTS E30 tune you can expect high 400s to low 500s when the boost spikes and comes on hard. With our OTS+ E30 tune package, output to the clutch is north of 600nm to the clutch on the initial hit when the boost comes on hard, tapering to mid 500s by redline. In comparison, these cars with a bigger upgraded turbocharger will be able to output mid 750nm to the clutch, tapering down to the 600nm area, so for a stock turbo car to only be slightly less with a pretty flat boost/power curve, it is quite impressive if you ask us.

Add-ons to the tune, custom maps, custom features, Etc:
1. Map Switching, up to 4 maps with different settings/fuels.
2. Antilag.
3. BM3 Flex Fuel Sensor Integration.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. Vehicle must be in good running condition with no issues. If you have issues currently, tuning the car should not be your main priority at this time. Please make sure that your machine is mechanically sound prior to flashing the tune file. If you are concerned, or have questions, please reach out via email so we can get a line of communication going.
2. Vehicle MUST have the modifications listed above, the tune will not function correctly without them. Failure to do this will result in less-than performance, issues, potential engine damage, etc.
3. Vehicle must be running on E30 blend fuel, failure to do this can result in poor performance, problems, engine damage, etc.
4. Vehicle must not be running on anymore E blend than E30, i.e.: don't put in E40 expecting the car to be better, faster, stronger, Etc, as more Ethanol will only hamper the fuel system and cause conditions of less than optimal fuel pressure, which, under a worse case scenario, can cause the engine to run lean, which can cause engine damage.
5. As with any modifications, especially modifications regarding vehicles, you (the owner) take all responsibility upon yourself when using this product.
6. VigorTuning does not change or modify any emission parameters or settings. All emission settings are still in place on the tune file. Running a catless downpipe will cause a CEL. VigorTuning does not remove or modify this CEL.
